The verdict

The adidas Performance is the multi gym to beat. It puts a full 100kg weight stack to work across three load points, so you can target every major muscle group without swapping mechanisms, and the station list is long, bench press, butterfly, pec dec, chest press, lat pulldown, low row, arm curl, leg extension, back leg curl and preacher curl. It arrives with handle, ankle, z-bar and short-bar attachments, so there is little you cannot train on it.

At 176kg it is one of the heaviest machines you can buy for the home, which translates directly into stability under load, and the powder-coated steel and dense foam feel a clear step above the budget field. A two-year warranty and a Scan to Train video library round it out. Reduced from £1,000 to £699, it is the standout all-rounder, provided you can house it and set aside an afternoon to build it.

Strengths

  • Full 100kg stack across three load points
  • Ten stations from bench press to preacher curl
  • Very heavy 176kg frame for reassuring stability
  • Handle, ankle, z-bar and short-bar attachments included
  • Scan to Train video workouts
  • Two-year warranty

Watch-outs

  • Large and very heavy to move and house
  • A long build, best done with two people
  • Maximum user weight of 125kg
  • Only a modest current discount off the original £1,000

Build and stations

This is a substantial machine. The frame is solid steel with a durable powder-coated finish and dense foam padding, and at 176kg it stays planted when you are pressing near the top of the stack. The three load points are the clever part, letting a single 100kg stack drive pressing, pulling and leg work without you reconfiguring anything.

The station coverage is among the widest here. Alongside the expected chest press, pec dec, lat pulldown and low row, you get a proper leg developer, a removable preacher pad for isolated curls, and a push and pull station with a pivot bar for flyes. The included z-bar, short bar and ankle strap extend it further still.

Size, assembly and the details

The footprint is 183 by 107cm and it stands 214cm tall, so measure your ceiling as well as your floor, particularly in a garage. Maximum user weight is 125kg. As with every machine at this size, assembly is a commitment of a few hours and is far easier with a second pair of hands, so set aside an afternoon and follow the manual carefully.

Who it is for

Buy the adidas Performance if you want one solid, do-everything machine with a full 100kg stack and a trusted brand behind it, and you have the space and patience for a large, heavy build. If you do not need the full stack, the 70kg adidas Home Gym costs less, and the York Perform is the value route to 100kg.

Frequently asked questions

Is the adidas Performance Home Gym good?
Yes, it is our top-rated multi gym. It combines a full 100kg stack, ten stations across three load points and a heavy, stable steel frame with a two-year warranty, which is why it leads our guide.
How much does the adidas Performance Home Gym weigh?
The machine itself weighs 176kg, one of the heaviest here, which is why it feels so stable in use. It also means a two-person build and a planned spot to keep it, since you will not move it easily once assembled.
What weight stack does the adidas Performance Home Gym have?
A full 100kg pin-loaded stack, spread across three load points so it drives pressing, pulling and leg stations from one stack. That is the most resistance you will find on a home multi gym.
Is the adidas Performance Home Gym hard to assemble?
It takes a few hours and is much easier with two people, as with any machine this size. Follow the manual carefully, particularly around the cables, and set aside an afternoon for the build.
