ProForm 325 CSX Review 2026
The ProForm 325 CSX is the value way into a connected recumbent. An easy-access frame, a lumbar-supported cushioned seat, a 7kg flywheel and 22 levels of Silent Magnetic Resistance, all on the iFIT platform, for £599. It is the standout of ProForm’s bike range and a genuinely comfortable, low-impact ride.

The verdict
A recumbent is about comfort, and the 325 CSX delivers it cheaply. You sit low and reclined with full lumbar support and the pedals out in front, which takes the strain off your lower back, wrists and joints, and the low step-over frame makes getting on and off easy. The 7kg inertia-enhanced flywheel and 22 levels of quiet SMR resistance give a smooth, sustainable ride, with a welded steel frame underneath. It is built for long, comfortable sessions rather than sweaty intervals.
On top of the comfort you get the full iFIT platform, run from your own tablet beside the 5-inch LCD, with SmartAdjust to set your resistance automatically. The newer model keeps things streamlined: Bluetooth headphone connectivity and a USB-C charging port rather than built-in speakers, plus a water bottle holder and transport wheels. With a 125kg user limit it suits a wide range of riders, and at £599 it undercuts most connected recumbents comfortably. As with any iFIT bike the best of it leans on an ongoing membership, but as a comfortable, well-equipped recumbent for the money, the 325 CSX is hard to beat.

Ride feel and real-world experience
On the bike, the 325 CSX rides exactly as a good budget recumbent should: smooth, quiet and unhurried. The 7kg inertia-enhanced flywheel keeps the pedal stroke even, and the 22 levels of SMR magnetic resistance are near-silent and step up cleanly from gentle recovery spinning to a genuine cardio effort. It is not a bike for out-of-the-saddle intervals, that is not what a recumbent is for, but for steady, sustainable sessions it feels composed and easy.
Comfort is the whole point, and it is where the 325 CSX earns its keep. The cushioned seat has proper lumbar support and slides backwards and forwards to fit different leg lengths, the reclined position takes the load off your lower back and wrists, and the low frame makes mounting and dismounting easy, which matters for older riders or anyone with mobility or joint issues. The ergonomic pedals have adjustable straps to keep your feet secure.
The newer model is streamlined rather than gadget-laden: you connect your own tablet over Bluetooth and run iFIT beside the clear 5-inch LCD, charge your device from the USB-C port, and listen through Bluetooth headphones, as there are no built-in speakers. As the bike is recent, long-term owner feedback on this exact version is still limited, but the underlying ProForm recumbent design has a solid track record.
Comfort and accessibility
If your reason for choosing a recumbent is comfort, the 325 CSX ticks the important boxes. The reclined, supported seating position is far kinder to the lower back than an upright or spin bike, the step-over frame is low and easy to get into, and the oversized cushioned seat with lumbar support is built for longer rides. That makes it a strong choice for older riders, anyone returning from injury, those carrying back or joint problems, or simply people who find a normal saddle uncomfortable. The 125kg user limit covers most riders, though heavier users should note it sits below the limits on some premium recumbents.
Assembly, size and setup
The 325 CSX arrives boxed for home assembly. At 67kg built it is a substantial recumbent, so a second pair of hands helps with the heavier sections, though the main steps are straightforward with the supplied tools. Once together it has a long recumbent footprint of roughly 142 by 63cm, so plan its spot, and it sits on front transport wheels to move it when needed. Check bolts are fully tight after the first few rides.
Living with it: noise, footprint and storage
The SMR magnetic resistance keeps the 325 CSX quiet, so it suits a flat or shared home, and the reclined comfort makes it the easy bike to actually sit on for half an hour in front of the television. It takes up more floor space than an upright because of the recumbent layout, so it wants a permanent home, but the transport wheels help. Upkeep is minimal beyond the occasional wipe-down and a periodic bolt check.
The iFIT app and subscription
The 325 CSX runs on iFIT, the same platform NordicTrack uses, via your own tablet or phone connected over Bluetooth. A 30-day iFIT trial is included; after that an iFIT membership is sold separately, renews until cancelled and needs Wi-Fi. With it you get more than 10,000 trainer-led workouts, scenic global routes, and SmartAdjust, which lets the session set your resistance automatically so you simply pedal. Your data syncs out to Strava, Garmin and Apple Health.
Is the iFIT subscription worth it?
For a recumbent, the subscription is genuinely optional. The bike works as a manual machine without iFIT, and many recumbent riders are doing steady, self-directed cardio where they do not need trainer-led classes or auto-resistance. The 30-day trial lets you decide whether the content motivates you enough to justify the ongoing cost. If you know you want guided sessions, iFIT is excellent and central to the bike; if you just want a comfortable spin while you watch TV, you can happily run it without a membership.
How it compares
Within ProForm, the 325 CSX is the recumbent counterpart to the upright 225 CSX: choose the recumbent for comfort and back support, the upright for a smaller footprint and a lower price. Cross-shopping the platform, NordicTrack’s recumbents are the obvious rivals on the same iFIT system: the GX LE Recumbent is a touch pricier with a higher user limit, while the GX10 Recumbent steps up to a built-in touchscreen. Against those, the 325 CSX’s case is its lower price for the same iFIT experience.
Similar spec, different brand: you may want to consider the NordicTrack GX LE Recumbent, the sister-brand recumbent on the same iFIT platform, pricier but with a higher user weight limit.
Who it is for
Buy the 325 CSX if you want a comfortable, connected recumbent at a sensible price: it is ideal for older riders, anyone with back or joint issues, those returning from injury, or people who simply find an upright saddle uncomfortable. It is also the cheapest route onto iFIT in a recumbent. If you want a built-in touchscreen or a higher weight limit, look at NordicTrack’s GX10 Recumbent; if you would rather have an upright and save space and money, the 225 CSX is the sibling to consider.

Warranty and after-sales
ProForm covers the 325 CSX with a 2-year parts, labour and frame guarantee, provided you register within 28 days of purchase, otherwise the standard term is shorter. It is bought direct from ProForm, so register on arrival and keep your proof of purchase. As a recent model its long-term reliability record is still building, but ProForm’s recumbents have generally held up well.
